A Ceremonial Opening
The High Road School of Massachusetts opened its doors in the midst of last school year. However, October 28, 2011 marked the Grand Opening to the larger public with a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. This symbolic celebration was a toast to both the programs’ current and future accomplishments. Notable guests joining the event included Olga Garriga, Out of District Coordinator for Brocton Public Schools, Carolan Sampson, Out of District Coordinator for Stoughton Public Schools and Greg Marancik, Director of Operations, SESI/High Road Schools.
Guests were treated to school tours led by Thomas White and Hughens Jean Philippe. In addition to a class by class school tour, the two outstanding young men provided a comprehensive perspective about their growth at the High Road School of Massachusetts. Beaming with pride in observance, Anthony Clancy and Michael Losche, Directors, both shared the sentiment, “These were the most thorough tours, we have ever seen.” They further noted how impressed the two students were in speaking about both the school and their personal experiences.
Nathaniel “Nate” Sousa, a Gold Level student, also provides the crowd with his story including the impact that the High Road School Program has had on him. “As soon as I met the staff of High Road School, they welcomed me with open arms. They have brought out the best in me”. Nate also served as the photographer for the event. Please take note of his skills as all pictures are courtesy of “Sousa Photography”.
Alongside, Ms. Garriga, Ms. Sampson, Mr. Marancik, Mr. Clancy, Thomas, Nate, Hughens and other staff members, Mr. Losche took hold of the 3’ scissors and cut the ribbon mark signifying both the schools present and future successes.
