2010 Fine Arts Festival

This year, the 5th Annual Fine Arts Festival took place on April 29, 2010 at the Columbia Meeting House in Columbia, Maryland. This showcase event of the year is an opportunity for all 10 Maryland schools to unite for a single event. To ensure success, a committee has been developed featuring staff representatives from all of the schools to create, plan and implement the yearly happenings.

The High Road School of Delaware is proud to announce that we will be participating in the Delaware Department of Transportation’s “Adopt a Highway” Program. The program is part of Delaware’s Anti-Litter Campaign to make the community a better place.

When Harrisen Tilery was in public school he had difficulty with math and reading and was struggling very hard to keep up with his peers. He found he had to work twice as hard as the other students because he had such a difficult time grasping information and it was causing him a great deal of stress.

Rozco Barraza-Gutierrez is a student at Sierra School at Edison and he is also an Aztec Dancer. Rozco began dancing when he was 8 years old. He is now almost 12 years old and has been performing with the same troupe for all these years. Rozco’s group performs anywhere from 3 – 4 times each month for many types of occasion.

The students of Mr. Flanagan and Mr. Held’s classroom choose to build a scrap metal tree for the Fine Arts Festival held last spring. The students decided to each make a branch of the tree to represent their own interests and hobbies.
